About me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube “Blameless”
from

Barbara Jensen.

This lovely tube is a gift from

Barbara

in these uncertain times and can be found at

The matching kit is “Passionate”.

A beautiful freebie kit from

Karmalized Scraps

also available at

You will need the png version of mask 347

and the jpeg version of mask 321 from

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow
of vertical 0,  horizontal 5, opacity 55,
blur 15.  Shadows on elements/tubes are optional but they give a nice 3-D effect, for detailed instructions on using shadows check out my Tips and Tricks Page.

Masks are also optional on a tag but they do give a nice finish. Again, please check out my Tips and Tricks page to learn about the different types of masks and how to use them.

Below is a version of the tag without shadows or masks.

Open a new transparent
canvas 750 by 750 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer,
select all, paste paper 1 into the selection, deselect and apply mask 321, duplicate,
merge the copy down onto the original then go to Effects – Texture Effects –
Blinds and apply with the settings in my screenshot below.

Paste the png mask 347,
mirror and move into place.

Paste frame 1, resize
40%, select the interior with your magic wand and expand the selection by
10,  paste the tube, resize 90%, position
in the frame, invert the selection and
hit delete, deselect and apply the Blinds effect with the same settings
as before.    Duplicate the frame and the tube then mirror
the tube, apply the drop shadow to each copy of the frame, merge one copy of
the frame down onto one copy of the tube and move both into place.

Paste the tube
again,  resize this copy 65%, position
and apply the shadow.

Paste element 11,
resize 30% and duplicate twice. Position one copy above the frames on the right,
flip one copy and position at the top below both frames, mirror and flip the
third copy and position between the two frames on the left at the bottom, apply
the shadow to each.

Paste element 12,
resize 25% and position below both frames towards the top on the left.

Paste element 19,
resize 30%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 7, resize
35%, mirror and rotate 20 degrees to the left, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 20, resize
20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 5, resize
25%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 12, resize
20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 16, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 3,
resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 1,
resize 20% and duplicate, mirror one copy and rotate it 30 degrees to the left,
position and apply the shadow to each.

Paste element 12
again, resize 20% and mirror, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 3 again,
resize 18%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 15,
resize 18% and rotate 20 degrees to the right, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 6,
resize 20%, position behind the tube on the left, duplicate, mirror the copy
and position it on the top, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 8,
resize 15%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste spray 1, resize
80% and move into place.

Paste element 13 on
the top, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 16
again, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 4, resize
20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 10,
resize 20% and rotate 80 degrees to the right, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 2,
resize 20% and rotate90 degrees to the left, position and apply the shadow.

Paste wordart 1,
resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 17, resize
15%, duplicate, rotate one copy 40 degrees to the right and one 20 degrees to the
left, position and apply the shadow to each.

Check your layers and
make any adjustments (duplicated the black mask,  moved the copy over to the right so a little
showed then erased the rest of it) then crop your tag, add your copyright
information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
