About me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube "Witch 17" from
Verymany.
This is a
great tube and can be purchased at

The matching fun kit "Witch 17" is from
Kizzed by Kelz.
This kit has
some really great elements and is available at

You will need my png mask

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 800 pixels and fill with white.

Paste my mask, resize it 65% and flip it, select all, float and defloat,
paste paper 6 below the mask, resize the paper 55% and position it to get as
much as the wooden floor in as you can, invert the selection and hit delete,
deselect and delete the original black layer, duplicate the paper layer, mirror
it and move both into place.

Paste element 67 and resize 110%.

Paste element 49, resize 50%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 136 and resize 50%, select the interior of the element with
your magic wand, expand the selection by 20, make a new layer below the
selection and paste paper 11 into the selection, deselect, apply the shadow to
the frame, merge it down onto the paper and move into place.

Paste element 9, resize 40%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 135, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 55, resize 25%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 27, resize 22%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 149, resize 48% and mirror, position and apply the shadow, dab
around the bottom of the element with a low opacity eraser to blend it out into
the branch.

Paste element 104, resize 10%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 105, resize 12%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 10, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste the tube, resize 25%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 148, resize 55%, position below the tube, erase the bottom long
part and apply the shadow.

Make a new layer and fill with white, paste element 85 and resize 50%, select
all, float and defloat, expand the selection by 1, invert it, go back to the
white layer and hit delete, deselect, duplicate the white layer and merge the
copy down onto the original then, merge the element down onto the white outline,
position and apply the shadow.  If you have a gradient glow filter you can use
that instead of these steps.

Paste element 25, resize 35%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 1, resize 55%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 75, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 137, resize 30% and apply the shadow and position right down
below the merged element/paper layer.

Paste element 61, resize 25%, position below those dangling hands and apply
the shadow.

Paste element 26, resize 15% and mirror, position below the tube, position and apply the
shadow.

Paste element 56, resize 22%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 2, resize 22%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 24, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 153, resize 15%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 118, resize 25%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 53, resize 25%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 29, resize 25%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 122, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 52, paste element 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 109, resize 35%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 4 on the top, resize 40%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 74, resize 25%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 150, resize 35%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 141, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 79, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 14, resize 15%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 88, resize 10%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 123, resize 15%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 86, resize 12%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 140, resize 10%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 18%, position and apply the shadow.
