About me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube “Amy” by
This is a really lovely tube and can be purchased at

I used the kit “Telling Stories”.
This is another stunning kit from Dee with so many
Beautiful elements I just did not know which ones to use!
You can purchase the kit from
Deedles n Doodles store.

I used mask 1, also by Dee, you can get it

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 750 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer, select all, paste paper 10 into the selection, deselect and apply the mask.

Paste spray 6, resize 93%.

Paste spray 4.

Paste wordart 2, resize 90% and apply the drop shadow.

Paste the tube (I did a little recolouring which is permitted by Pics for Design).  Resize the tube 25%, rotate 1 degree to the right and apply the drop shadow.  Place the wordart and tube in position.  Put this canvas aside for a while.

Open temp 1, duplicate and close the original, resize 40% with the box “Resize all layers” checked, enlarge the canvas to 500 by 500 pixels, make a new layer right on the bottom and fill with white.

Paste the tube again (I changed the colour of her hat).   Resize the tube 45% and move it down so it is between “top pic scratch overlay” and “top pic”.  Select “top pic”, float and defloat it, using my tag for reference, position the tube in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete to remove the excess.  Lower the opacity of the tube to around 75.    Repeat the above with “middle pic” rotating the tube 20 degrees to the left and again with “left pic” rotating the tube 40 degrees to the left.  When you are done, delete the bottom white background layer, copy merged and paste on your original canvas, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 78, resize 30%, drag below the photo layer, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 104 on the top, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 48, resize 35%, duplicate, mirror the duplicate, place in position and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 98, resize 40% and rotate 20 degrees to the left, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 60, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 47, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 64, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 45, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 30, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 25, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 9, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 67, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 45 above, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 34, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 27, resize 20% and rotate 10 degrees to the right, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 13, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 63, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 21 on the top, resize 18%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 59, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 21, resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 81, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 93, resize 30%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 97, resize 20%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 6, resize 15%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 7,  resize 25%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments, then crop your tag, add your copyright information and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
