About me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the awesome art of
I just love Enys’ art!
You need a license to use it, available at

I used a fabulous kit Kiss#5.
This is one of the series of Kiss kits priced at just a dollar.
The kit comes with 30 elements and a paper for you to make your own tag and
also a ready made PSD and PSP shadowed tag.
You can purchase the kit at
Deedles n Doodles store.

You will also need a mask, I used mask 05 by Millie at

Font of choice.

Please check out my “About my tutorials” page if this is the first tutorial of mine you have followed, thank you.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 85, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 700 by 700 pixels and fill with white.

Make a new layer on your canvas, fill with colour #1c1f21 and apply the mask.  If you are going to use your tag on a dark background, fill the layer with the paper instead of the colour.

Paste element 19 as a new layer, resize 60% and duplicate, position one element towards the top on the right and the other move down and to the left.  Apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 13 as a new layer, resize 75%, position top, right and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 12 as a new layer, resize 70% and place in position.  Click anywhere on your canvas outside of the element with your magic wand to make a selection, invert the selection and contract it by 10, make a new layer below the element, copy the paper and paste it into the selection, deselect.   Apply the drop shadow to the element and drag the paper below the tree.

Paste your tube as a new layer on the top, resize as needed, place in position and apply the drop shadow.  I resized my tube 70%.

Paste element 23 as a new layer, resize 70%, drag below the tube, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 2 as a new layer, resize 80%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 11 as a new layer, resize 60%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 24 as a new layer, resize 65%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 25 as a new layer, resize 40% and duplicate, position either side of the tube and apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 29 as a new layer, resize 50%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 17 as a new layer and bring to the top, resize 75%, position to the right of the tube and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 30 as a new layer, resize 65% and mirror,  place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 22 as a new layer, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 27 as a new layer, resize 40%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 21 as a new layer, resize 45%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 26 as a new layer, resize 40% and duplicate, drag the original below the bottle and position behind it, mirror the copy and position in front of the bottle, apply the drop shadow to each.

Paste element 6 as a new layer, resize 55% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 4 as a new layer, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 28 as a new layer, resize 70%, place in position and apply the drop shadow then derag the copy of element 26 above it.

Paste element 20 as a new layer, resize 55%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 1 as a new layer, resize 90%, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Paste element 5 as a new layer, resize 60% and mirror, place in position and apply the drop shadow.

Check your layer positions and make any necessary adjustments.

Paste element 8 as a new layer, resize 90% and drag right down to below the window, position at the bottom on the right, duplicate, mirror the duplicate and position on the left erasing the parts that overlap.  Apply the drop shadow to each.  Paste this element again, resize it as before and position it immediately below the ribbon, erase most of the leaves out leaving just a few in front of the lantern and apply the drop shadow.

When you are done, crop your tag, add your copyright information and text, then export on a transparent background as a png.
