About me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

This tutorial uses a freebie kit called "Dark Souls" from

This is a truly awesome kit with some totally
fabulous elements and there are also 2 packs of matching freebie tubes.
I really loved working with this.
You can grab the kit and tubes at
Adrienne's blog.
Be sure to have a good look round when you are there!
Thank you so much Adrienne for your awesome freebies!

I used png mask 220 from MisTiquee's Digital Designs.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0,  horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur 10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 750 pixels and fill with white.

Paste frame 1, resize 40%, select the interior with your magic wand and expand the selection by 5, paste one of the papers below the frame (I used paper 2), resize 25%, position in the frame, invert the selection and hit delete, deselect, apply the shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and position.

Paste element 117, resize 60%, position below the merged frame and apply the shadow.

Paste element 30 on the top, resize 25%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 65, resize 23%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 20, resize 70%, position and apply the shadow

Paste element 21, resize 45%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 11, resize 30%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 64, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste your tube, resize, position and apply the shadow.  I resized mine 40%.

Paste element 49, resize 25%, position below the tube and apply the shadow.

Paste element 2, resize 25%, mirror, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 25, resize 35%, mirror, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 24, resize 35%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 38, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 113 on the top, resize 17%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 66, resize 15%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 54, resize 12%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 13, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 53, resize 12%, rotate 10 degrees to the left, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 74, resize 15%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 99, resize 15%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 45, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 37, resize 23%, mirror, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 44, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 51, resize 18%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 83, resize 18%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 42, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 46, resize 15%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 96, resize 15%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 92, resize 15%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 60, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 82, resize 15%, position on the right and apply the shadow.

Paste element 111, resize 12%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 50, resize 15%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 115, resize 15%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 114, resize 12%, mirror, position and apply the shadow.,

Paste element 43, resize 20%, mirror, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 56, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 73, resize 7%, rotate 20 degrees to the right, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 70, resize 7%, rotate 40 degrees to the left, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 71, resize 7%, rotate 40 degrees to the left, flip, position and apply the shadow.

Check your layers and make any adjustments.

Open the mask, select all, float and defloat, make a new layer, open paper 8, copy it and paste into the selection, deselect.  Copy the masked paper and paste it right at the bottom of your tag just above the white background and position so it shows at the top,  duplicate it, mirror the copy, position so just a little shows towards the bottom on the right and erase the rest of it.  Duplicate the original copy again, flip it and move down so a little shows at the bottom then again erase the rest of it.

When you are happy with the positioning of the masks, crop, add your credit and text and export on a transparent background as a png.
