About me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Vivienne, living in the UK and married with a son who now lives in Perth, Australia and a daughter who has given me two gorgeous grandsons! Paint Shop has been my hobby for more years than I can remember and I love making tags. I have always loved doing tutorials written by others and a couple of years ago started writing them myself. As well as tag tutorials, I also have a Tips and Tricks page where you will find tutorials on basic Paint Shop techniques. I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun with my tutorials. Please be sure also to check out the Tag Gallery and see some of the awesome results to the tutorials!

In this tutorial I used the tube "Classic Beauty" from
the latest pack
124 from Barbara Jensen.
Barbara allows her tubes to be recoloured.
I used
the Black and White film effect to recolour the tube
which is an effect in
Paint Shop Pro.
Instructions are included in the tutorial.
You can
purchase the tube at

The kit is "Elusive Evening" from
Pink Paradox Productions
and is also
available at
I recoloured some of the elements to keep
the
black, white and red theme using the "change to target" tool.
You
will find instructions on using this tool in my

You will need my png mask

Font of choice.

I used a drop shadow of vertical 0, horizontal 5, opacity 75, blur
10.

Open a new transparent canvas 750 by 750 pixels and fill with white.

Paste the mask, resize 80%, select all, float and defloat, make a new layer,
paste paper 26 into the selection, deselect and delete the original black mask
layer.

Paste element 183, resize 40% and position.

Paste element 176, resize 50%, position and apply the shadow,

Paste element 240, resize 90%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 228, resize 55%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 171, resize 30%,  drag below element 228 and position on the right,
duplicate, position the copy on the left, erase the part of the original copy
that shows to the left of element 228 and apply the shadow to each.  Go back to
the top copy which is on the left and dab around the edge with a low opacity
eraser to blend it into the mask a bit.

Paste element 177, resize 50%, position below the left hand copy of element
171 and apply the shadow.

Paste element 251 on the top, resize 40% and position.

Paste element 44, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste frame 1 and resize 9%, click anywhere on your canvas outside of the
element to make a selection and expand the selection by 9, paste paper 29 as a
new layer below the frame, resize it 30%, position in the frame and hit delete,
deselect, apply the shadow to the frame, merge it down onto the paper and move
into place.

Paste element 248, resize 50% and position.

Paste element 15, resize 40%, position and apply the shadow.

Open the tube, duplicate it and close the original, then pick your layers.
Click on the girl layer which is just above the cushion layers and go to Effects
- Photo Effects - Black and White film and apply with brightness set to 40 and
clarity to 10, if you are using the leopard spot tattoos recolour them black,
then copy merged and paste on your canvas, resize 45%, position and apply the
shadow.

Paste element 174, resize 30%, duplicate and close off the copy for now,
position the original below the tube and apply the shadow.

Paste element 251 again, resize 40%, mirror and position.

Paste element 203, resize 13%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 93, resize 13%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 33, resize 20%, position and apply the shadow.

Paste element 209, resize 15% and recolour if you are going to, duplicate,
close the copy off, position the original behind the tube and apply the
shadow.
